Boomaroo Nurseries Hort Connect

Halving waste and doubling productivity by the year 2030 was the theme of this year’s Hort Connections event.

Boomaroo Nurseries had a strong presence at the event, alongside other members in the horticulture industry including seed companies, growers, packers, processors, shippers, importers and exporters, wholesalers and retailers to name a few. Hort Connections is an influential space for networking, education and business and this year was no exception. Boomaroo Nurseries’ expo display was one not to be missed. The open and inviting space lined with plants and vegetable seedlings on display, couches and giveaways, attracted not only growers and other players but graduates who are keen to get into the horticulture industry. We were more than happy to share information on the Boomaroo Nurseries Graduate Program with the next generation in horticulture.

Boomaroo Nurseries also played a vital part in the event, as the national Hort Connections sponsor of the Women in Horticulture Award for 2018. Boomaroo was proud to play a pivotal role in encouraging the sharing of women’s successes and driving more women to take a lead role within an agricultural and horticultural field. Congratulations to Rachel Mackenzie from Qld for taking out the award with her contribution and dedication in her field.

This event was a great chance for Boomaroo to network and learn about new innovations and ideas coming out of the industry. We are constantly looking at processes to drive efficiency and collaboration across both our vegetable and Greenlife businesses. Boomaroo believe in partnering more with our customers and supply chain partners to deliver an optimal quality product on time and to invest in resources to improve capability – all with one of many goals being to mitigate waste, which was the theme of this year’s event and one that should always be front of mind.
